about the record
The eight pieces on Blue as an Orange are part sound art installation, part musical composition; recontextualising Meccano parts, motors, fans, rattles, paper and nails as instrumental components in Pierre's fantastical musical machines. Coupled with a palette of African Kundi Harp, Javanese rabab, sanz, gongs, and electric harpsichord, he meshes out a spectrum of glistening tones, teasing timbres and unique harmonics.
