about the cassette
‘I dreamt we found a way’ is a documentation of Bristol-based artist Rob Winstone’s ongoing, almost spiritual practice of music-making. Titled as an expression of a deep yearning to overcome the alienating by-products of capitalism and the subsequent dislocation of the human soul, this collection of pieces is a crystal-clear expression of the artist’s inner-most hopes and aspirations.
The album takes different paths, showcasing the artist’s various approaches. Longform minimalist ambient works, gentle, decaying neoclassical vignettes, diaristic sound entries, as well as more intensive dark ambient cuts sit side by side united in their purpose – to uplift, heal and alleviate suffering. A uniquely paced album, an understated jewel by an artist whose vision is sharpening day by day.
