about the tea

A first flush tea from the foothills of Laoshan Mountain near the sea. The foothills shelter the tea gardens from the salt air, and the mist caught against the mountain keeps the tea cooler – beneficial to the tea’s sweetness and flavor. The tea is grown by the Liang family, and they conduct all the tea processing as well. It is protected under the cover of a greenhouse until early spring, just as the leaves are starting to sprout, then exposed to full sun until harvest in early April.
