This album is a document of a musical experiment, created collaboratively by musicians Oh No Noh, Jenny Berger Myhre, and F.S.Blumm.
The title reflects the album's creative process, which involved filling and letting go of gaps through staggered collaborative composing, with each artist leaving room for others' ideas without knowing the final outcome. The musicians combined field recordings and improvisations into new forms, resulting in a trance-like snapshot that spans ambient, sound art, and soundscapes.
In 'Interstitial,' each musician composed a piece that formed the foundation for the others' overlays, with the resulting pieces being distinctively processed and shaped. The track titles indicate the overlay order, with abbreviations for Jenny Berger Myhre (JBM), Frank Schültge (FS), and Markus Rom (MR).
