Contrary to their claimed "superstition music," Orientations is an attempt at ambient music crafted from Mong Tong's iconic sound and improvisation. Excluding percussion and sound samples and using only guitar, bass, and synthesizer, the band tried a different way of composition, emphasizing abstract sounds to make the album more delicate and soft in the sense of listening. It is a piece that not only puts all listeners in a trance, but takes them far beyond.
