why we love this
Subtle waves of bass are subsumed by rarefied white noise hovering in the atmosphere. mu tate evokes silhouettes in motion, cast by distant floodlights of an unknown origin.
about the record
mu tate joins the Warm Winters Ltd. roster with his vaporous, dubbed-out excursions. Utilizing his trademark crackling field recordings, soporific atmospheres, swooping sub-bass, and cascading synths, wanting less is as weightless and gorgeous as his previous outings on Experiences Ltd. and Utter. More so than ever before, though, he enters more jazz-tinged, melodic territory without forgoing the traces of (post)club music appearing throughout his discography. This is probably mu tate at his least hallucinatory, yet the music still tingles the deepest recesses of the mind and explores deeply nocturnal atmospheres. Pure bliss!
